Ilapak is once again showing its commitment to the bakery industry with the launch of a new flow wrapper for tortilla and flatbread applications.
Responding to the budget and performance demands of mid-sized bakeries, the Delta EZ combines an affordable price tag with the ability to produce hermetically sealed MAP packs at speeds of up to 100ppm, thanks to an innovative longitudinal sealing system.
This advanced sealing system was developed by ILAPAK for its top-of-the-range Delta 6000 to give both exceptional sealing performance and maximum substrate flexibility. This means that the Delta EZ is as adept at handling the co-extruded films favoured by food service operators as it is at running the PET-based barrier films typically used in retail MAP applications.
To keep build costs in check, ILAPAK has ‘selectively engineered’ the Delta EZ to incorporate only those additional features that are of value to mid-sized tortilla and flatbread producers. Besides the longitudinal sealing system, these include a multi-belt infeed to enable automatic phasing of individual tortillas or flatbreads into the folding box of the flow wrapper, automatic splicing and an adjustable folding box that accommodates products ranging in diameter from 6” up to 14”.
September’s IBIE (International Baking Industry Expo) in Las Vegas will be the first outing for the Delta EZ. Here, visitors to ILAPAK’s booth will have the opportunity to see the brand new flow wrapper in action on a tortilla application.
